Callie Michelle Rost

After our last doctor appointment, the doctor decided to schedule us for an induction since my blood pressure was still high. The plan was for us to go the hospital on 12/14 for placement of something called cervidil and then start an induction with pitocin the morning of 12/15. After we got to the hospital and got all checked in...the resident came in to place the cervidil. Before she did that, I mentioned that the doctor had told me they would be sure to do an ultrasound when we got to the hospital just to confirm Callie's position because although they were fairly certain she was head down...her head wasn't fully down in the cervix yet. Turned out to be a really good thing I mentioned this. As soon as they put the scanner on my belly...we found out she was breech!!! This meant a c-section!!! I was scared to death, but knew that this little lady had to come out one way or the other. I decided just to trust that a vaginal birth just wasn't meant to be for whatever reason and as long as we had a healthy baby and mommy at the end...that was all that mattered. Callie was born 12/14/09 at 10:12 p.m. She weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long!!! They originally measured her at 18 inches, but we found out later the measurement was a little off due to the position of her legs when she was born. Here are a few pics of our little miss!
Last family photo of 3!!! Jax has no idea how his life
is getting ready to change!

Look at those legs!!! Poor girl!!

As you can see...we decided to spell her name
with a C instead of a K.
